wine 102 old world vs. new world

our 102 course is a one-day immersive tasting experience. delve into the distinctions between old world and new world wines, and explore the fascinating concept of terroir and its profound influence on the flavors of wines. understand how soil, climate, and geography shape the essence of each sip. demystify the world of wine labels. learn how to read them with confidence, decipher industry jargon, and uncover the stories behind the words. this one-day class includes wine tastings, printed materials, and lasts about an 1 hour. you can buy any of the wines you taste to take home with you! in addition to our ticket price there is CA tax of 9.5% and an "order type fee" of 20%, which is a gratuity for the team. 100% of the gratuity goes to staff.

there is so much to learn and learn about sake, and we want to help everyone get a better understanding with all the what’s and how’s of sake production and terminology. not only will we cover all that, but we will also taste 5 different styles of sake and talk about them in depth.

sparkling wine is not just for celebrations, but should be enjoyed any day of the week at any time!!! join us as we talk about and taste various sparkling wines from around the world. we will explore the different techniques used to make sparkling wine as well all the terminology used by the different regions of the world that produce the sparkling wines you need to be drinking now.

one of the greatest wine regions in the world, and also one of the hardest to understand. we will look at maps, talk about soils, and geology, as well as all the AOCs (deliminated regions) that make Burgundy one of the most famous wine regions. and of course we will taste some very amazing wines from all over Burgundy.
